Our current sections are as follows:
ON THE RISE: Main competition section, open to 1st and 2nd features, German premiere required, runtime of at least 61 Minutes
PUSHING THE BOUNDARIES: Aesthetically daring films by established directors, from 3rd feature onwards
FILMSCAPES: A limited number of special screenings
YOUNG FILM FESTIVAL: 7 films for the younger audience
RETROSPECTIVE: A look back at film history on a yearly topic
The festival generally does not program short films.
Informaciones para largometrajes
Public submissions are possible only for the main competition ON THE RISE.
The requirements are:
- First and second fictional feature films intended for theatrical release (documentaries cannot be submitted)
- with a runtime of at least 61 minutes
- that have not yet been shown publicly in Germany
- whose world premiere has not taken place or has taken place before September of the previous year
- that have never been submitted to the IFFMH (re-submissions are not possible)
