Behind the scenes at a Parisian palace, the Citadel, Adèle, a young prisoner, lands a job as a porter thanks to a rehabilitation programme set up by the hotel's all-powerful director, Édouard Galzain. A tacit pact is formed between them, propelling the young woman into an underground power game where ambitious employees, influential clients and outside networks each seek to gain the upper hand.
